Norway has upgraded its data centre sustainability strategy as part of its commitment to digital transformation. The new strategy endorses sustainable growth and job creation given that the government estimates that the data centre industry will grow from 2,000 to 11,000 jobs in 2025. The government has also allocated NOK2.7 billion in 2019 and 2020 for the establishment of 18 new facilities across the country.
