Algeria has adopted a national strategy on research and innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), dedicated to improving Algerians' skills in AI through education, training, and research, and exploiting the potential of AI as a development tool in key socio-economic sectors (e.g. education, health, transport, energy). According to Abdelbaki Benziane, minister of higher education and scientific research, the strategy aims to build a solid base in terms of AI research, to apply the latest AI techniques in various fields, and to better exploit the human and material resources available.
