Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced it would host the first neutral-atom quantum processor Aquila from QuEra computing. Aquila is a neutral-atom quantum computer that can run 256 qubits, which makes it 158 million times faster than the fastest supercomputer. The processor is designed to solve mathematical problems known as Analog Hamiltonian Simulation (AHS). This means it can solve problems in high-energy physics that can then be expressed as a specific mathematical object, known as a Hamiltonian.
Aquila will be hosted in AWS's special cloud server called Amazon Braket, allowing for access directly from the cloud. With this, AWS hopes to provide a space where researchers can collaborate, share information, and start new projects.
