APEC stresses importance of Internet for small business-led growth

The realisation the economic growth potential in Asia-Pacific hinges on overcoming digital barriers, according to the APEC Business Advisory Council. Meeting in Shenzhen, the Council recommended measures to improve Internet access and the use of e-commerce, which would provide market opportunities for small businesses. According to Juan Raffo, the Chair of the Council, 'No economy in the Asia-Pacific will realise its potential for new growth without healthy and expanding small businesses supported by the power of the Internet'.
