Publishers and advertising companies have filed a complaint against Apple before France competition authority alleging that privacy changes the company wants to implement in the IPhone are anticompetitive. Apple had announced its plans to operate a software in the IPhones that will require apps to get opt-in permission from users to collect their advertiser identifier and a key number used to deliver targeted advertisements. Advertising companies alleged that a few users would agree to be tracked, which will make it harder for companies to sell personalized ads. The case is one of the first to challenge privacy policies on antitrust grounds, according to The Wall Street Journal.
