The IT systems of Aurubis, the second-largest copper producer in the world, were taken offline by a cyberattack.
The attack occurred on Friday night, according to a brief statement from Aurubis, which has its headquarters in Hamburg. It stated that 'this was apparently part of a larger attack on the metals and mining industry'.
