In response to Facebook blocking news coverage on its platform in Australia, Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault said that his country would be next in making sure Facebook pays for news content. Guilbeault is in charge of drafting Canadian legislation regulating Big Tech, which is expected to include provisions similar to the Australian Media Bargaining Code and to be unveiled in the coming months.
