China is developing a medium-high-orbit quantum satellite, which will combine with high-orbit and low-orbit satellites to build a wide-area quantum communication network, according to Pan Jianwei, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Pan said that medium-high orbit satellites could provide higher work efficiency, as well as longer and wider quantum communication range. The satellite will be developed in cooperation with the National Space Science Center.
