Facebook has released a new transparency report that includes new information about the prevalence of hate speech on the platform. Facebook estimates between 0.10% to 0.11% of users violate hate speech policies. In total, 'out of every 10 000 views of content on Facebook, 10 to 11 of them included hate speech'. The platform also announced that over the past 3 months, approximately 95% of Facebook and Instagram content with hate speech was proactively removed. Many of the takedowns were powered by improvements in Facebook's AI system.
