The UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), together with the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) organiseda roundtable on cyber security of consumer smart products with representatives of Internet of Things (IoT) manufacturers and retailers. The purpose of the round table was to hear about how manufacturers secure their products and how to advance the adoption of IoT best security practices. The participants recognized the importance of security in the design, development and support of IoT products as well as the need for consumers to feel safe with the products they are purchasing. All parties agreed to take steps to ensure the implementation of effective security solutions in IoT devices.
