During her keynote address at the Shanghai Mobile World Congress, Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei, stated that it was harder than she had anticipated to use 5G technology in the commercial world. Despite the high expectations for 5G connectivity, including advancements in self-driving cars, factory automation, and faster mobile phone connections, Meng pointed out that these benefits were not easily attainable. She emphasised that 5G differs significantly from its predecessors, 2G, 3G, and 4G, and integrating it into the existing ecosystem is crucial for successful operations.

Meng elaborated on the potential advantages of 5G for consumption and the economy and highlighted the need for seamless integration into various sectors to realise its full potential.
