India launches free online platform for skills development

India's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched an online platform (indiaskillsonline.com) to provide vocational training through free online courses. Apart from specific courses related to different areas of work, the website will also offer courses on 'soft skills, languages, digital literacy, orientation to regional cultures as well as modules on entrepreneurship'. According to Minister Rajiv Pratap, the platform 'ensures ease of skill training for all so that one can focus on application of skills to overcome the environmental and circumstantial issues at their workplace.'
