On the occasion of the Safer Internet Day, a new mascot called Sango or Sangophone was launched for the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) Child Online Protection (COP) initiative.
The mascot has been developed by children aged 8 to13 years as part of classroom activities in preparation for a school excursion to the ITU for the Futurecasters Global Young Visionaries Summit, where the children learnt about how to protect themselves online and be digitally literate.
