In response to the surge in locust in East Africa and the Red Sea region, and with the help of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Turkana County regional government is employing an app -'e-Locust' -to fight desert locusts that pose a risk for food security in the region. The data collected through the app is sent in real time to the regional government which then sends a team to manage the area.
