Mozilla to start DNS over HTTPS as a default in its browsers

06 sept. 2023 Hi-network.com

The DNS over HTTPS (DoH) is a protocol that provides an additional layer of encryption to the communication between the browser and web. Starting in 2018, Google and Firefox announced that they will work on implementing DoH on their products. Mozilla has announced that starting from September 2019, DoH will be default protocol in its web browsers. DNS resolution over HTTPS protocol significantly improves the ability to prevent man-in-the-middle attack and prevent eavesdropping. Mozilla conducted the trial with more than 70 000 of its users, and the results were encouraging to announce the worldwide implementation.
