FTC announced a settlement of$2 million with online advertising platform OpenX Technologies over alleged violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. In a complaint filed by the Department of Justice on behalf of the FTC, accused OpenX of securing geolocation information of children under 13 years without parental consent. FTC shared "OpenX has received millions, if not billions, of ad requests directly or indirectly from child-directed Apps, and transmitted millions, if not billions, of bid requests containing personal information of children to OpenX's demand-side partners,".... "These requests included location information and persistent identifiers used for online behavioral advertising."
