The ransomware Trojan Locky, first identified in February 2016, continues to propagate around the world via spam email messages. According to Kaspersky, there have been attempts to infect users with the Trojan in 114 countries, the largest number of attacks being identified in Germany, France, Kuwait, India, and China. Once installed on the users' devices, the Trojan encrypts all data and the user is then asked to pay a ransomware to get the files decrypted. A detailed description of how the Trojan works is presentedhere.
