Uber loses trademark infringement case

Ride-sharing company Uber has been hit with a different kind of court order. In a trademark infringement judgment, the company has been prevented from using the name UberEvents in certain parts of Florida after a court ruled in favour of another company offering its services by the same name. The ruling, however, stopped short from blocking Uber (the ride-sharing company) from using its name beyond the city, as it would 'do more harm' to the company than needed.
