UK removes online extremist content with 300 pieces a day

Statistics released by Scotland Yard show that the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU) removes terrorist and extremist content from the Internet at a rate of almost 300 pieces a day. Removals have risen from less than 2000 in 2012, to more than 55 000 in 2015, and with the current rate of removal, the total for 2016 would exceed 100 000. Extremist content includes 'terrorist propaganda videos, pictures of beheadings, bomb-making instructions and speeches calling for racial or religious violence.'
