According to Reuters, Belgium's data protection authority (DPA) has expressed concerns over the Belgian government's plan to store personal data in a central database to support the fight against the spread of the COVID-19. In a non-binding opinion, the Belgian authority stated that "there is no reason for the Belgian state to foresee - and hence impose - the registration of the massive amounts of personal data, including health-related, used by the tracing contact centres into a unique central database".
