According to the National Law Review, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of Brazil, Jorge Ant?nio de Oliveira Francisco, has announced that the administrative decree to create the new Brazilian data protection authority (the Autoridade Nacional de Prote??o de Dados, or "ANPD") is finalized and will be soon published, after final technical adjustments are made. This announcement comes as the Brazilian Congress is due to vote on provisional measures, which will delay the applicability of the new Brazilian data protection law.
