Californian attorney general revealed that Facebook has been under investigation for more since spring 2018, for possible violations of Californian privacy laws. AP reports that the attorney general disclosed the investigations as its office was making a public court filing to force Facebook to answer a subpoena and interrogatories. Facebook may now be forced to turn over key documents. According to the Guardian, the Californian justice requested executive communication regarding auditing third party developers' access to data, advertising policies and emails between Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg regarding Cambridge Analytica. The Financial Time also reports that in response Facebook's vice-president of state and local policy stated: "We have co-operated extensively with the State of California's investigation. To date, we have provided thousands of pages of written responses and hundreds of thousands of documents."
