Global Times, a Chinese Communist Party publication, reported that Sweden faces a last chance on Ericsson's fate in China over its involvement in 5G trials. The Chinese ambassador to Sweden said he hoped the country will correct its "mistakes" of banning Huawei from providing its equipment for 5G networks in Sweden. Ericsson has been invited to participate in the next round of China's 5G build-out.
Since Swedish regulators issued the ban of Huawei's 5G equipment in October 2020, Huawei is challenging the decision in Swedish courts. The ruling is expected in the coming weeks.
