A team of researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China has designed a 62-qubit programmable superconducting quantum processor, called Zu Chongzhi. The processor was presented as marking two significant milestones in the field of quantum computing: (a) containing the largest number of superconducting qubits so far in the world, and (b) achieving two-dimensional programmable quantum walks. According to Global Times, the researchers designed and produced a 8
