Following the announcement that the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is being postponed to November 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic; a number of climate change experts have called for the digitalisation of climate change diplomacy. They highlighted that this moment is a unique opportunity to improve transparency and accessibility to the UNFCCC. The experts also emphasised that 'Digital COP26 -Part 1' could facilitate informal discussions and improve the participation of businesses, research communities, and the civil society.
