ENISA, the European Agency for Cybersecurity has published its latest Threat Landscape Report covering the period between July 2021 and July 2022. The report highlights the status of the cybersecurity threat landscape looking at threats, actors, techniques, and mitigation measures. Major threats by state actors, cybercriminals, hacker-for-hire actors, and hacktivists include ransomware, malware, social engineering threats, threats against data and data availability, Denial of Service, disinformation and misinformation, as well as supply-chain attacks.
This threat landscape has also been fueled by the Russia-Ukraine conflict creating a new era for cyberwarfare and hacktivism with important implications for state sponsorship of cyberattacks and against targeting critical civilian infrastructure.
