The European Parliament has published a study on strategies to lift Coronavirus restrictions. It deals with the role of vaccinations and therapeutics, testing, and contact tracing apps. It highlights the importance of automated tracing as a key measure for reducing the spread of the virus. According to the report, the ongoing debate on contact-tracing apps in the EU seems to be converging towards a preference for voluntary contact-tracing apps that rely on proximity/Bluetooth data (as opposed to location data) and comply with the EU's GDPR.
