Facebookreleased an update on its ongoing app investigation and audit. Upon the first stage of its review on the access the apps had into users' data, Facebook suspended around 200 apps. Following the promise that Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. gave on 21 March 2018, as part of its investigation, Facebook has looked into thousands of apps so far, that had access to large amounts of information before the company changed its policies in 2014 which, 'significantly reduced the data apps could access'. According to the update, large teams of both internal and external experts are working on the investigation. 'There is a lot more work to be done to find all the apps that may have misused people's Facebook data -and it will take time', noted Ime Archibong, VP of Product Partnerships at Facebook.
