After the announcement by the Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati to start digital tax sooner than planned; Indonesia will impose a 10% value-added tax on digital services provided by non-resident companies starting July 1, 2020. Though, the Indonesian government seeks to mitigate the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The tax will apply to digital streaming platforms like Netflix and Spotify which are gaining more money, doing more businesses in the COVID-19 era.
