Indonesian ministry urges to scrap tax on social media users

The Indonesian ministry in charge of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has asked the tax department to halt a proposed tax, which would tax social media users who promote their businesses on the Internet. The tax has been estimated to generate about 1.2 billion US dollar. Instead of burdening SMEs, the ministry urges to provide them with incentives.
