The international police organisation (Interpol) has deployed software known as Project First to Cameroon to facilitate recording of biometrics of prisoners convicted of terrorism related offences. In a tweet, the organisation stated that over 500 terrorism suspects wereidentified in a mission where the software was deployed to Cameroon. Thereafter, Blue Notices on the suspects were issued. Blue notices are international alerts by Interpol for the collection of additional information such as their identity, activities and location in relation to a reported crime. Interpol's mission was part of support to enhance security as Cameroon hosts the African Cup of Nations (AfCON). The tournament comes amidst fighting in some parts of Cameroon.
