Is Facebook censoring conservative news?

A former editor of Facebook has revealed that popular conservative news is kept off the 'trending news' sidebar of the social media platform. The news sparked a heated debate among conservative circles. The Head of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over technology firms, has sent a letter to Facebook demanding an explanation concerning the accusations that it 'misleads the public.' Facebook Vice-President Tom Stocky has states that 'we take these reports extremely seriously, and have found no evidence that the anonymous allegations are true.' The accusations against Facebook is just the latest example of the rising tensions between Silicon Valley and Washington.
