Smart Africa (the African Union agency in charge of promoting the digitization of the continent) and Lleida.net (an electronic communications service provider) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the digitisation of public processes through the use of Lleida.net's Software as a Service (SaaS). Through this agreement, the state organisations in African countries will be supported to implement digitisation projects in public administration, private services, and e-commerce without having to invest heavily in infrastructure. Within the framework of this agreement, Lleida.net and eGate Egypt will help Smart Africa to define projects in which its SaaS services can be used for the public good. 'As a corporation with a presence in Africa, we are gratified to contribute to African countries, through our technology, to address digitization projects of high immediate impact,' explained Lleida.net chief executive officer (CEO) and founder Sisco Sapena.
