South African mobile operator MTN has concluded a deal with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop a mobile money project. As part of this initiative, the MTN is expected to hire 10,000 agents as well as a business development team that will monitor regulation compliance and prevent practices such as money laundering. This partnership is regarded as a way to connect enterprises, namely, small small businesses with customers and suppliers and ultimately bridge the digital divide.
