The Mobile Health (mHealth) intervention, a project initiated in rural areas by the Ministry of Health with financial and technical support from Medecins sans Frontieres and the Research Triangle Institute International, has enabled Zimbabweans living with HIV to receive SMS messages about their HIV viral load (VL).
The project aims to help patients participate in the management of their HIV, know the importance of sticking to treatment and VL monitoring, and to consult clinics when their VL is high.
