Poly Network, a decentralised finances (DeFi) platform, was hit by a cyberattack earlier this week, leading to over US$600 million in cryptocurrency being stolen. The attack exploited a vulnerability in the platform's smart contracts. The company called on the hacker to return the stolen assets. The company warned: 'Law enforcement in any country will regard this as a major economic crime and you will be pursued. It is very unwise for you to do any further transactions'.
