Samsung to pay $303 million for patent infringement

22 avr. 2023 Hi-network.com

In a recent lawsuit, a federal jury in Texas ordered Samsung to pay$303 million to US computer-memory company Netlist Inc. The ruling comes after a legal battle where Netlist claimed that Samsung infringed on its patents related to server memory modules. Netlist argued that its innovations increase the power efficiency of memory modules and enable users to extract useful information from vast amounts of data in a shorter time. On the other hand, Samsung argued that the patents were invalid and that their systems run differently than Netlists technology. Netlist sued Samsung in 2021, alleging Samsung memory products used in cloud-computing servers and other data-intensive technology infringe its patents.
