As Internet of Things technologies and applications continue to evolve, projects intended to use such technologies in order to build smart cities become more and more complex. A recent article published by Computer Business Review offers an overview of five IoT smart city projects from around the world. These include: India's Smart City Mission project (aimed to transform 100 cities in smart cities by the end o the decade); Dubai Plan 2021 (the smart city strategy that includes over 100 separate initiatives in areas such as healthcare, industry, education, safety, telecoms, etc); Barcelona's ongoing projects to use IoT in e-government services, utility measurements, city apps, etc; Australia's Commomwealth's Smart Cities Plan; and Singapore's Smart Nation programme.
