There will be no unilateral ban on Huawei in Sweden as The Swedish Post and Telecoms Authority confirmed it will not exclude the Chinese telecom vendor from its 5G network rollout. The Authority will require that all network equipment vendors submit to an independent security review which will be conducted by Sweden's Armed Forces and Security Services. This decision follows the UK's decision to defy the US by including Huawei in its 5G plans in a limited role as well as the release of the 5G security guidelines by the EU commission which indicated that individual member states were expected to make their decisions regarding network vendors. Germany is expected to make a definitive decision in the coming weeks.
