US administration releases National Standards Strategy for Critical and Emerging?Technology

Le 04 mai 2023 Hi-network.com

The US Government has published a National Standards Strategy for Critical and Emerging Technology aimed at bolstering technology safeguards and bolstering American leadership and competitiveness in international standards development. The strategy is intended to renew the country's rules-based approach to standards development, emphasising support for international standards for critical and emerging technologies. It focuses on four key objectives that prioritise standards development for these technologies, enabling global markets, promoting interoperability and driving innovation.

The strategy for CET standards development focuses on four key objectives. Firstly, investment in pre-standardization research to drive innovation and promote US leadership in international standards development. Secondly, working closely with the private sector and academic stakeholders to fuel effective standards development. Thirdly, investing in educating and training stakeholders to contribute more effectively to technical standards development. Lastly, ensuring the standards development process is technically sound, independent, and inclusive to meet societal needs and promote broad participation from countries worldwide. The US government has called on various stakeholders to participate and collaborate to achieve these objectives.

US Government agencies are already committed to the Strategy through their actions and partnerships, including engagement in multilateral fora and collaborative efforts with private sector groups. These actions align with the National Security Strategy, National Cybersecurity Strategy, and ANSI's US Standards Strategy to protect the integrity of standards development and ensure long-term success for US innovation.
