Coronavirus quarantines and remote work slowsInternet speeds in some US cities

Mar, 17, 2023 Hi-network.com

A report published by BroadbandNow, an organisation that tracks broadband speeds, has found that, although broadband speeds are holding up in several major US cities in the face of the mass shift to remote work as a measure of containing the spread of coronavirus; some cities are seeing a strain on their Internet speeds.

The study found that four out of ten of the largest US cities (Houston, New York City, San Diego, and San Jose), that have  been hit the hardest by the pandemic, are seeing a degradation in speeds for home Internet users.

The table below shows MLabs download speeds comparing the week of March 9 to the previous 10 weeks for the top 10 US cities by population.
