DITCh Plastic Network, a network of organisations promoting the use of digital technology and circular economy has launched the DITCh Plastic initiative to combat plastic waste pollution in Africa. The network relies on digital tools including applications such as the 'Jumeni' app in Ghana and websites that promote the reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic.
The implementation of the initiative is monitored by De Montfort University from the UK and African technology centers in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia.
