Ivorian company Djamo has become the first start-up in the country to receive Y-combinator backing. Djamo will get seed funding amounting to US$125,000 as well as further investment opportunities organised by Y-Combinator.
Djamo seeks to build a super financial app for Francophone Africa. The company currently provides a payment system in Ivory Coast. It states that it has around 90,000 registered users and processes over 50,000 transactions monthly.
