This article explains how to connect a printer to a new Wi-Fi network after you've changed routers.
After changing routers, all the devices that used the previous router have to reconnect to the new one. This is because the new router creates a completely different network, likely with a different SSID and password.
Follow these steps to connect your printer to the new network so you can continue printing wirelessly:
These steps are necessary even if you've configured your new router to use the same network name and password as the previous one. The printer needs to create a connection to the new router before it can exist on the network.
Find your new router's Wi-Fi password. If you've already set up this router and have been using it with your phone and other devices, then you already know the password.
You can also find this password from a device that's already using the Wi-Fi network, like your Android or iPhone.
If this is your first time using the router, you'll need to figure out its default password or walk through some first steps to complete the installation and create a Wi-Fi password.
Open the printer's network settings. Every printer works a little differently, but you're looking for something related to the network.
Look for a section calledLAN settings, Networking, Wireless, Wi-Fi, etc. These might be in a parent menu calledSettings or Setup.

Some printers have a touchscreen for navigating their options, while others use buttons or an app that's paired to the printer. Research your printer's manual for specific instructions.
Select the router. The printer should find a list of available Wi-Fi networks for you pick from. When it finds your new router, select it.

For the printer we used for these directions, the list of networks appeared after selectingWi-Fi>Wi-Fi setup>Manual connect.
Type the Wi-Fi passwordand then follow any other on-screen steps to establish a connection to the network.

If you aren't interested in printing wirelessly, you don't need to reconnect your printer after changing the router. You will, however, need a wired connection to use the printer in the future.
To connect your printer to Windows, search for and selectPrinters & scanners. SelectAdd deviceand then choose your printer.
If you can't find your printer on your network, it could be that Wi-Fi is disabled on either device. Update the printer's firmware if you can, then try resetting your network equipment.
To connect your Android to a printer, go toSettings>Connected devices>Connection preferences>Printing>Default Print Service, or use a third-party app. On an iPhone, use Apple AirPrint.
