Ethiopia shuts down Internet during student exams

Ethiopia has blocked access to the Internet across the country to counter the risk of national exam papers leaking online. The shutdown is meant to prevent situations like the one in 2016, when exams were leaked, leading the country to ban access to social media. Yet, some have questioned the government's motives, as mobile Internet access has been disrupted several times recently.
