European Commission presents its 'no time for business as usual' work programme for 2016

European Commission's Vice President Frans Timmermans has presented the work plan of the Commission for 2016, entitled 'No time for business as usual'. One of the pillars of this plan is the creation of a Digital Single Market. According to the plan, the Commission will provide its vision on the Digital Single Market in further detail in December, including proposals on copyright, the cloud and taxation. The plan also includes the New Skills Agenda, which will promote the development of 'digital and high-tech expertise'.
