A GPON optical broadband network will be deployed by Slovenia-based Iskratel in collaboration with Teleserv Group Bolivia in Potosi Bolivia, the world's highest city. Iskratel will implement its SI3000 Lumia GPON optical line terminals (OLTs), along with Innbox G85 and Innbox G74 optical network terminals (ONTs) at customer premises. Potosi is a silver mining city located 4,090 metres above sea level whose population has rapidly declined over the centuries and now houses 141 ,251 people with challenges for stable, fast Internet access. Bolivia ranks 111th out of 139 countries globally for Iinternet speeds. This optical broadband network is expected to provide digital opportunities to residents and businesses
