The European Commission issued new strategies for data and AI to put together a 'coordinated European approach to the human and ethical implications of AI'. In the white paper, the commission presents its plan to move forward with a risk-based approach to regulating artificial intelligence (AI). The commission will focus on 'high-risk' AI applications, of which healthcare, transport, energy and parts of the public sector are identified to be high-risk. AI applications considered high risk would be subject to different transparency and other requirements.
