Using the power button is the easiest way to shut downandturn on a Chromebook. Follow these steps if you're experiencing minor issues such as Wi-Fi connectivity problems.
Find thePowerkey on the keyboard, most likely in the upper-right corner.
Some devices, such as those with a tablet mode, may have the key in a different location.
Press and hold thePowerkey for about two seconds until the screen goes dark.
If aPowerOffoption appears, select that instead.

If your Chromebook needs to be updated, you'll see the option to restart to apply the update. Instead of using the physical power button to restart the Chromebook, you'll select the appropriate action on the screen.
Select the notification panel to display the Quick Settings menu in the lower-right corner of the screen.
SelectRestart to update or Restart.
A blue notification means the update is recommended, while an orange notification indicates a required update.
Wait for the Chromebook to shut down and power back up.
