The Saudi Internet activist Naima Al-Matroodwas jailed by the Specialised Criminal Court (SCC) in Saudi Arabia. Her trial, which started on 10 April 2017, one year after her arrest on 13 April 2016, included many charges for 'allegedly participating in a number of anti-state demonstrations and rallies, being linked to a media cell, and violating public order by creating two social networking accounts on Twitter, Facebook to demand the release of some detainees.'
